About the Roadside Station

Can I place an order or reservation for products at the roadside station?

Yes, this is possible. Please note that some products may take time to prepare. Please contact the roadside station directly for inquiries.
Please also be aware that we do not accept same-day holds on products.

I am interested in selling products at the Roadside Station.

For sales within the store, please contact the Producers’ Association at 080-7733-8280. For food truck and flea market inquiries, please contact the Roadside Station at 0478-50-1183.

Do you accept telephone orders and delivery?

Telephone orders and delivery services are not available.

Where can I obtain the Roadside Station stamp, stamp book, Roadside Station tickets/cards, Roadside Station Gachapin figures, national highway stickers, or castle seals?

These items are available at the Roadside Station.

About the River Station

How many seats does “Restaurant Tetora” have?

It has approximately 100 seats.

Can I make a reservation at the restaurant? Can I place an advance order for a bento (boxed lunch)?

Please contact the panoramic restaurant “Tetora” directly.

Are pets permitted on the tourist boat?

Pets are permitted on board; however, their care and safety are the full responsibility of the owner.

Where can tourist boat tickets be purchased?

Tourist boat tickets can be purchased at the River Station General Information Desk.

Are license renewal or lapsed license refresher courses available?

Applications for renewal and lapsed license refresher courses are accepted; however the courses themselves are not conducted at this facility.

Is it possible to obtain a small vessel operator’s license?

Applications for a small vessel operator’s license are accepted. The training venue will be either this facility or another location, depending on the schedule.

Are there any hazardous areas such as shallow waters or reefs that require attention?

There are hazardous areas, including shallow waters and reefs. Please refer to the cruising map on the linked page.

Is it possible to refuel a boat with gasoline at this facility?

Gasoline refueling for boats is not available at this facility.

If a problem occurs with a boat will rescue services be provided?

Please be aware that rescue services are provided for a fee.

Is it possible to wash a boat at this facility?

Boat washing is not available at this facility.

Is an advance reservation required to use the boat ramp or mooring facilities?

No advance reservation is required.

Which areas are permitted for canoe and kayak use?

Beginners are advised to use the designated recreational zone (shallow water area). Navigation on the Tone River main channel and other waterways is permitted, but is entirely at the user’s own risk, including safety management. Please note that the Ono River is not available for canoe or kayak use, as it is navigated by tourist boats.

Is a reservation required to use the canoe/kayak launch area?

No advance reservation is required.

Are canoes or kayaks available for rental?

Canoe and kayak rentals are not available. Please bring your own canoe or kayak.

Can pets accompany passengers on the rental boats?

Pets are permitted on board; however, their care and safety are the full responsibility of the owner.

Are bicycles with training wheels available for rental?

Bicycles with training wheels are not available.

Are electrically assisted bicycles available for rental?

Electrically assisted bicycles are not available.

Is a reservation required to rent a bicycle?

No reservation is required; however advance reservations are also accepted.

Is it possible to view the multipurpose training room in advance?

Viewing is possible during times when the room is not in use by others.

Is there an admission fee to enter the River Station building?

No, admission to the River Station building is free of charge. Everyone is welcome to visit freely, so please feel free to stop by.

Can events be held at Sawara Hall?

Events and other activities may not be held at this facility unless they are related to river disaster prevention or initiatives concerning the Tone River.

Is there an admission fee to enter the Disaster Prevention Education Exhibition Room?

There is no admission fee. Visitors are welcome to tour the exhibition room freely.

General Facility Questions

What are the operating days and hours?

The Roadside Station is open from 8:00 to 18:00, year-round. The River Station is open from 9:00 to 17:00, and is closed on Mondays and during the New Year holiday period. Restaurant Tetora is open from 9:00 to 16:00 (last order at 15:30), year-round.

Are the restroom facilities available 24 hours a day?

Restrooms available 24 hours a day are located within the facility.

The location does not appear in my car navigation system.

Is there a baby changing station (diaper changing table)?

Baby changing stations are available in the Roadside Station restrooms and nursing room as well as in the restrooms inside the River Station.

Is a nursing room available?

A nursing room is available. Hours of operation are 8:00 to 18:00.

Are wheelchairs available for loan?

Wheelchair loans are available.

Is there a public telephone?

A public telephone is located at the rest and information corner of the Roadside Station. It is available 24 hours a day.

Are there designated smoking areas?

Smoking is permitted in the designated outdoor smoking area on the premises.

Are there trash bins inside the facility or on the premises?

Trash bins are available; however, household waste may not be disposed of on the premises. Please also be advised that some visitors have been found discarding portable gas canisters, which is extremely dangerous and strictly prohibited.

Is the waterfront plaza accessible by wheelchair?

Wheelchair users can access the waterfront plaza via the ramp.

How many vehicles can the parking lot accommodate?

I need proof of visit for a Chiba Prefecture tourism program.

This can be arranged at the Roadside Station office.

Is it possible to view the river?

Visitors are welcome to enjoy viewing the river at their leisure.

Is there a place to have lunch?

There is a restaurant within the facility. Packed lunches brought from home or purchased at the Roadside Station may be enjoyed either outdoors or in the multipurpose training room (capacity: up to 40 persons). Please refer to this link for details on using the multipurpose training room.

Are credit cards and electronic money accepted?

At the Roadside Station, cash, credit cards, QR code payments, and transportation/retail electronic money are all accepted. At the River Station, cash only is accepted.

Is it possible to charge a mobile phone or other devices?

Charging is available at the café space in the Roadside Station direct sales shop.

Are pets permitted inside the facility?

Pets are not permitted inside the facility. Please refrain from bringing pets inside, even in carriers or baskets. However, guide dogs and assistance dogs are permitted.

Is it possible to moor a boat at this facility?

Boat mooring and storage services are not available at this facility.

Are tents permitted to be set up on the premises?

As a general rule, tents may not be set up on the premises. However, users of the river marina may set up a tent within their own designated parking space in the boat yard.

Is it acceptable to park here when visiting the townscape of Sawara?

Yes, you are welcome to use our parking facilities.

Is a reservation required for large bus parking? Can reservations be made?

No reservation is required for large bus parking. Advance reservations are not accepted.

Is overnight parking (sleeping in your vehicle) permitted?

Taking a brief nap in your vehicle to recover from fatigue during a drive is permitted.
However, please be aware that using the parking lot or other public spaces for overnight accommodation is generally not permitted.
